About our job-page reader
Effective 21 September 2026
If you run a careers site, you may see requests from MagicalResumeJobCapture/1.0. This page explains what it is.
What it does
- It reads one public job posting, and only when a signed-in person pastes that posting's link into Magical Resume so they can tailor their resume to it.
- It does not crawl, follow links, or come back on a schedule.
- Each link is read at most once every 24 hours for all of our users together, with at least one second between requests to the same site.
- It reads HTML, JSON or plain text up to 2 MB, over HTTPS only.
What it never does
- It sends no cookies and never logs in.
- It does not try to get past paywalls, captchas or bot checks. If a page cannot be read, we ask the person to paste the text instead.
- It never requests LinkedIn, Indeed or Glassdoor pages.
What we keep
The posting text is saved for the person who added it. The public posting is also kept for 24 hours in a cache shared by all users, with no record of who asked for it.
robots.txt
The reader does not currently consult robots.txt, because it only fetches a single page that a person chose. If you would rather we never read your site, tell us and we will add your domain to our do-not-fetch list.
Contact
Email support@mg.www.magicalresume.com with your domain and we will stop reading it.
